In case you missed it….The Sanity Squad’s latest podcast is up.

Neo-neocon, Shrinkwrapped and Dr Sanity chime in (brilliantly, of course) on the Foleygate tantrum. All those big booted, stomping feet, shrink considerably when subject to the steely and close examination of the Sanity Squad.

Like a fine wine, the Sanity Squad just gets better with time, so unless you’ve got a bottle of some of those fine wines to knock back, listen the Sanity Squad broadcast.

We’ll rock your world.

The Sham, Exposed

October 9, 2006

Everyday, western proponents of freedom and democracy are lectured to by some of the world’s most despicable players. ‘Hamas was freely elected,’ they say, ‘The western democracies should respect that vote.’ We wrote

…there is no disproportionate response against those who would elect those kind of people to represent them.

Had we bombed the shit out of Berlin after Hitler was elected in 1933, on a platform he openly espoused and repeated- 50 million souls would have been saved.

50 million.

Screw Hizbollah and screw Hamas and their ‘free elections.’ Their platform is not unknown and not secret. Their ideology and their ‘cultural values’ are not a secret. They can’t be bothered to camouflage or hide the evil they profess.

Voting for Hizbollah or Hamas in a free election, was not endorsing freedom- it was an endorsement of tyranny. It was an endorsement of the another kind of ‘Thousand Year Reich.’

As for those European and left wing American bastards that are willing to let history repeat itself and allow for the slaughter and deaths of innocents, all over the world, victims of terror- well, screw them, too. They are no more than closet Nazis themselves or appeasers, dreamers entirely disconnected with reality.

There will be those who raise their hands in the UN to condemn Israel and the US, but let’s be clear about what they and their raised hand Nazi salute are submitting to:

Hizbollah and Hamas, uber alles.

Enough. Enough.

No more Cosgroves, no more Anne Franks and no more Maximilion Kolbes.

At some point we have to defend what we believe in.

Those who aren’t willing to fight, believe in nothing- and they have no right to tell the rest of us we have nothing to worthwhile to defend.

If you need another reason to repudiate the immoral sham that is Hamas, consider this: Since their election victory, the Hamas central authority have empowered and armed 6,000 armed ‘Executive Force.’

The proponents of the democratically elected Hamas are silent when asked about a heavily armed and empowered group that is loyal to the current ‘administration.’ Imagine a newly elected democratic government establishing an extra judicial heavily armed militia, answerable to no one except to suppress dissent.

The ‘Executive Force is the equivalent of the Nazi era Gestapo.

In what portends to be an important story down the road, it appears the ‘romance’ between Hamas and the Palestinians is well on it’s way out the door.

“I voted for Hamas, but I wouldn’t vote for them again,” said Fathi. “Look how my situation is now. Of course, Fatah are corrupt people, but at least we see something from them. There is gasoline, there is some food. There is some help. We know they take 80 percent, but at least we see 20 percent. … I don’t think any of the people here would vote for Hamas again. There is no money, there is nothing.”

Before it won parliamentary elections, Hamas earned its popularity among ordinary Palestinians because it ran schools, hospitals and other social services without the corruption that riddled Fatah. In the West Bank and Gaza Strip, more than 140,000 government workers — about one-third of the working population — have not received salaries since March, the result of an economic boycott imposed on Hamas by Israel, the United States and most Western countries because of its refusal to recognize Israel, give up terrorism or honor past peace agreements.

The Hamas government thought it would be able to bypass the boycott with support from sympathetic governments led by Iran, but the cash has not lived up to the promises.

Government schools have been shut since the start of the new school year in early September, the result of a strike by teachers who have not been paid since before the summer. Unpaid police are eking out a living by moonlighting or running protection rackets and debt-collection services.

The price of diesel has almost doubled in the past year, and gasoline has gone up by 20 percent. Crime is rising. Armed, unemployed men — some of them nurtured during the intifada — have begun using their weapons to hold up gas stations and other easy prey.

The sham that is Hamas and the sham that is the agenda of those who support Hamas, is bering exposed for what it is- and it is apparent that we have to hold Hamas accountable for their evil.

Dr Sanity noted in The Brilliance Of The Barbarians, that war means that sometimes, the rules of civilization are suspended.

…we will not lose our values; and that our overall moral heading can be recovered should we need to temporarily deviate from the course of the moral compass that guides us. Because, in order to combat and defeat this new barbarism, we must confront it and be willing to do whatever it takes to defeat it.

If we appease or ignore it, it will continue to menace everything we hold dear; and sooner or later, it will sink us–no matter how moral we are or how much restraint we demonstrate to their provocations. Morality and restraint will not win this conflict. We must be sure in our own hearts and minds of the endurance of our own values in order to do what is necessary…

There is another front being fought on- an pretend front, if you will. With the help of an agendized and cooperative media and a very savvy and sophisticated adversary, we are under the illusion that we are at odds with a ‘demcratic’ government, as we relate to Hamas.

We noted in Why War Works,

For 60 years, we have been ‘talking’ and ‘discussing’ with regimes that would harm our interests at at moment notice, and regimes who openly admit that if given the opportunity, would eliminate Israel and slaughter as many Jews as possible.

For sixty years, the American position on Israel and the Arab nations, under every administration since Truman, Republican or Democrat, have been remarkably consistent: Cessation of hostilities, diplomatic recognition and secure borders.

After 60 years, those things have yet to be fully accepted.

Imagine negotiating with the Nazi Party for 60 years, during which time it engaged in a limited- but relentless terror and war- as well as their stated genocidal aims.

The ‘democratic’ election of the rejectionist Hamas, has changed nothing. Once more, the dysfunctional Palestinians- made that way by successive dysfunctional regimes, leaders and policies- are being led by yet again another dysfunctional regime.

The Palestinian destiny is clear. As long as they keep voting for dysfunctional regimes that will lead them no where, there will be more distance between themselves and the civilized world.
