You Wanna Play, You Gotta Pay And Why Dems Need To Think Before They Speak
November 10, 2006
So there are some Germans want to indict Donald Rumsfeld and others for for war crimes? So be it. There is also room for other indictments- as in the German treatment of Scientology. Brings back back memories- see this and this.
Does Germany need another reminder of what happens when ethical poison is allowed to course through German veins? Perhaps the Germans need to reflect on that. What possible better way to do that than bringing hate charges to the world court?
So there are Dems who want to see a draft, so that the Bush twins might be forced to serve? That’s nice. Maybe Chelsea Clinton, the Gore girls and John Kerry’s daughter can be in the same class of inductees, along with the sons and daughters of the newly elected Democrats to Congress and the Senate!

It’s the EUropean nuance of it all.

The Democrats should prosecute him as well. Throw them all in jail.

If the Germans try it, they would be fools of grand scale. Especially when it’s none of their business to interfere with US law.

I think the temptation will be hard to resist!
It is ironic, though.

Does the MSM have any obligation to make clear that it is US Bolshies (OMG, including even grand-daughter of atomic spies for Stalin!) who are trying to get Germany, with its unusually convenient ‘War Crimes’ laws, to prosecute Rumsfeld etc. Or is that task left to the blogosphere?

Gringoman is right. American human rights groups are behind this. Germany is the stage because there laws permit prosecution of foreign nationals for acts committed in another country. That said, there will be a lot of Germans who find this acceptable. They have be fed such garbage by the media and there is a large very leftist section of the population that hates us for winning the cold war. See Davids Medienkritik for a post on Michael Naumann. He is a co-publisher of Die Zeit, former culture minister under Schroeder, and resposible for the culture side of the paper. He fancies himself an expert on America because he spent some time as a publisher in NY, but he is an idiot. This week’s issue of the paper has an article on hypocrisy in America. This is a typical German thing–discuss an issue a though America is the only country where the issue raises its head. Naumann is the kind of European that the Kerry crew wants to impress.
