Fertilizer For Evil

In speaking of radical Islamism and the left, history appears to be repeating itself. In the Totalitarian Mindset, Dr Sanity notes

…radical Islamic ideology is itself an unexpected combination of several toxic memes that came together over the last 30 years. One thread of this meme is Islam itself–a purportedly “peaceful” religion that is actually historically based on military conquest and coercion of belief through jihad– entwined with the remnants of the totalitarian ideologies of the last century.

This is why there is an alliance between the totalitarians of the left– who are the remaining outposts of communism and socialism that thrive in academic and “intellectual” circles in the West; and the Islamic fanatics of the world. Whether this alliance is a conscious or unconscious one (i.e., whether the specific component of the left actively and deliberately supports Islamic terrorism versus enabling and appeasing it) depends on the level of insight and personal depravity achieved by the true believer of today’s left…

This sympathetic and synergistic interaction of the seemingly very different totalitarian mindsets–terrorism in the name of religion combined with the secular neo-marxist fascism of the left–have created a very toxic brew, made even more lethal by the rhetorical and political strategies of postmodernism. The result is a pure and perfect poison that threatens to destroy all human values; all human decency and all human civilization.

It is true that Islam was spread by the sword, but then again, Christianity has it’s own history of violence. The difference is not so much in the past as it is in the evolution of religious ideologies and behavior- both of which define current iterations of religious expressions.

It is also true that Islam has been redefined by some of the most evil and dysfunctional regimes in history, so that the religion might serve various political needs and maintain the status quo. This is especially true in the Arab world. The mother’s milk of Arab and Islamic dysfunction are what nourish the populations from early on.

We wrote,

…imagine a school that gave each student a glass of alcohol every day. Each day, beginning at tender nursery school age, the child was encouraged to drink the beverage that would come to poison his mind. Suppose that beverage was from the well aged bottle of anti Semitism.

Suppose also that once that child downed that alcoholic beverage, the teacher refilled that glass with more alcohol. This time, the flavor is religious bigotry directed at non Jews.

Suppose once that glass of alcohol was consumed by young dutiful children, the glass was immediately refilled with the beverage from the bottle of anti western and anti democratic values.

After decades, these children, now adults, go home every day, turn on the television and read the newspapers- and they are fed more alcohol. They get more when their kids come home from school, and share the same familiar poisoned ‘fire water.’ They poison they are fed gets the God’s seal of approval when fed to them from the pulpit- or so they desperately need to believe.

Of course, to keep a drunk or a junkie hooked, it takes an ever increasing amount of poison to induce the same stupor that blinds the drunk or the junkie to his own surroundings and dysfunction. The supply of poison never ends.

A more important and fundamental question arises. How is possible that there are those who grow up under the tent of freedom, can justify and support the causes of those who commit evil? How is it possible then, that so many Americans, children of privilege and raised in freedoms that are the envy of the world, have come to hate the very freedoms they claim to value?

People are driven to hate and violence when they realize they cannot control others or their beliefs- without resorting to violence of any kind. The same applies to people who support them. In supporting violence and repressive agendas, they highlight the reality that they cannot control themselves. They want what they want, when they want it.

Many on the left believe their agenda is driven by a piety that only they, in their heightened awareness, are capable of. Their motives are pure, they say. Disagree with them and you are evil. They are true believers, and as such, they are entitled to make decisions for others, on behalf of others and despite others. They love their fellow man, they say. They hate injustice, they say. They are true believers in the highest calling of mankind.

Well, the Nazis were true believers, too. There were communists that were true believers and they have the blood of 50 million people on their hands. The North Vietnamese killed 2-3 million after we left Vietnam. Castro and Che slaughtered hundreds of thousands between them. African communists have shed the blood of millions.

All of the aforementioned were true believers. All of them believed they were serving the best interests of mankind.

Being a ‘true believer’ is no mark or guarantee of moral or ethical superiority.

That applies to all ‘true believers’ of every political, religious or ethical stripe. When you are not open to new ideas, thoughts or challenges, you are no better than ther legions of evil ‘true believers’ that preceded you. This latest crop of ‘true believers’ are intellectual pygmies, the ‘useful idiots’ and apparatchiks of our time, afraid of debate and most of all, afraid of accountability.

They are the true enablers of evil. They deliberately choose blindness and deafness, so as to affirm their ‘righteousness.’ They see themselves as charged with a mission- to blind and render deaf others, so that their status might be validated. Without their distortions,evil would be held to account. Instead, evil is allowed to flourish.

They are no more than the fertilizer for evil, violence and death.

Many on the left today are choosing the values of a medieval world long gone, with the violent values and expressions of medieval religions. They are opposed to those who choose to live in the here and now, dealing with reality. As we noted, in a Sanity Squad podcast, “Imagine living an entire life as a psychotic episode?.”

That the left openly embraces the values of those who make no secret of their evil, hate and bigotry, only highlights a part of their dysfunction.

There is no call from the left to improve the schools and education levels of these regimes, that are at the bottom of the barrel, according to the UN Human Development scale. There is no call from the left for work and employment programs that might benefit whole populations. There isn’t even a call from the left for these obscenely resource wealthy nations to share the wealth. There is no call for any kind of modernization other than for increased capitalistic consumerism, whatsoever.

None of the oil rich Arab nations is capable of building a drill bit. The left has not asked that oil companies build plants and laboratories to produce what is needed by these countries to sustain their oil production. Tens of thousands of jobs could be created.

Instead, the left concerns itself with supporting terror against Israel and western interests.
