Hamas said Friday that it would never recognize Israel and will not, as a movement, abide by previously reached Palestinian peace accords with Israel as urged by President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah. “We will never recognize Israel. There is nothing called Israel, neither in reality nor in the imagination,” Nizar Rayyan, a senior Hamas leader in Gaza, told the Reuters news agency…

Rayyan welcomed the unity government agreement reached in Mecca on Thursday but said Hamas shunned Abbas’ call for Premier Ismail Haniyya, who will form the new cabinet, to abide by previous peace accords.

“We, in the Hamas movement, will not abide by anything,” he said.

The comments were endorsed by Hamas spokesman Ismail Rudwan, who said: “The recognition is not an option at all, is not discussable…”

“We have agreed with the Saudis to market this agreement internationally. Our brothers are in constant contact with the Americans and Europeans and I believe there is a possibility to market this agreement,” government spokesman Ghazi Hamad told Reuters.

“They cannot ignore this agreement and impose their own conditions,” he said in reference to the US. “The European Union should open a dialogue with this new government and this is the only way to have stability in the region.”

The dysfunctional Palestinian government, like previous Palestinian regimes, are in no position to dictate to America, Israel or anyone else, the terms on which they must be dealt with.

When the Palestinians elected Hamas, they knew and understood exactly who Hamas was:

“Hamas views the Arab-Israeli conflict as “a religious struggle between Islam and Judaism that can only be resolved by the destruction of the State of Israel.”

“…asserts that struggle (jihad) to wrest control of the land from Israel is a religious duty incumbent on every Muslim individually (fard `ain).”

“Hamas uses both political activities and violence to pursue its goal of establishing an Islamic Palestinian state in place of Israel and the secular Palestinian Authority…Hamas has also engaged in peaceful political activity, such as running candidates in West Bank Chamber of Commerce elections (isn’t that just precious?- SC&A)”

“The Hamas Covenant cites the long-discredited anti-Semitic fraud, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, describing it as “the embodiment of the Zionist plan to usurp Palestine”. Hamas dismisses the Freemasons, Lions Club, and the Rotarians as organizations promoting “the interest of Zionism.” It accuses those organizations, and the “Zionist invasion” in general, of being “behind the drug trade and alcoholism in all its kinds.”

From the Hamas Charter:

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

“The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. “

“There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

“After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying.”

In addition to the favorite Hamas rallying cry, taught to children in kindergarten, “Hamas, Hamas, Jews to the Gas!” there is this, from the The Hamas Martyrs Oath:

“Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious…The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah’s victory is realised

The fact that the Hamas government was freely elected is irrelevant. Adolph Hitler was elected in a free and democratic election in 1933. Being freely elected is no guarantee that a government will behave in a civilized way. In the case of Hamas, that is assured. They have continued to ratchet up their racism and bigotry, and they proudly proclaim their antipathy toward Jews, Christians and all non Muslims. They endorse and remain sympathetic to goals of Hitlers National Socialism. They at once deny the Holocaust and in the same breath, praise the Nazi efforts to exterminate Jews, promising to ‘finish what Hitler started. ‘Mein Kampf‘ is accorded the status of a sacred test.

Neither the Israelis or western democracies are under any obligation to fund, facilitate and aid groups that openly deny their existence and proudly admit to their stated goal of killing them. Western democracies and the civilized world will never consider the call to ‘ITBACH AL YAHUD!’- SLAUGHTER THE JEW!- as being an acceptable and equivalent form of political, cultural, educational or religious expression, equal to their own.

Had any European government taken Hitler at his word, and arrested and killed the top echelon of the Nazi Party, 50 million souls would be alive today. Their would be no sailors buried in a cold watery graves in the Atlantic, never again to see the sunlight. There would be no wives that learned the bitter lesson that ‘what God hath brought together,’ can indeed be ‘torn asunder’ by evil men. The coast of France would not have cemeteries with neat rows of crosses and other monuments.

Perhaps the time has come for imaginary state of Israel to call upon it’s imaginary air force and it’s imaginary army to visit Ramallah and pay an imaginary call on the Hamas government.

Anna Nicole, The Palestinians And The Media Dance

Anna Nicole Smith’s life was a train wreck.

Her entire tragic life in the public eye, was predetermined by the choices she made- or didn’t make. She was reluctant to give up the spotlight, preferring instead to be a ‘victim,’ albeit one that was a caricature of real victimhood.

Anna Nicole Smith became ‘must see TV,‘ because despite the fame and noteriety bestowed upon her by a news media that have become more concerned with entertainment value rather than informative values. The media knew Anna Nicole Smith would be popular on our TV screens because they knew exactly how we would react to her. She always made the wrong decision and she always made the wrong choice. For us, it was like watching ‘Jeopardy.’ We were screaming out the ‘right answer’ even as we watched her stumble. We would get it right. We would know what to do. Anna Nicole Smith always made a spectacle of herself because that was the only way she knew to be recognized.

We forgave Anna Nicole Smith, because she was over the top. We laughed as we watched her swing her hips or jiggle and make fun of herself. We could forgive ourselves for laughing at her (no one ever really laughed with her) because she had lots of money and that would take the edge off anything we might say or think. It wasn’t as if she was really getting hurt, right?

Anna Nicole lost her son (who in many ways, paid the price for his mother’s selfish obsessions), a tragedy that upends nature. Parents are not meant to bury children. That tragedy is now compounded, because Anna Nicole Smith’s mother will bury her daughter.

‘If it bleeds, it leads,‘ has long been the media’s First Commandment. They love the salacious images of broken lives and they love images of train wrecks and car crashes. Of course, the longest running train wreck and assortment of broken lives in history can be found in the Palestinian Authority.

For decades, the Palestinians have been accorded a Dali-esque celebrity. Decade upon decade of bad decisions, denial of reality and publicly documented corruption, have all taken their toll. The dysfunction is now embedded and hardwired. Rather than editorials asking that the Palestinian leadership be held to account for the implosion of a people, the media encourages the train wreck. The media cannot be bothered to hide their manipulation and encouragement of Palestinians ‘resistance,’ so the ‘right’ images be had. If that ‘right’ image can’t be had the first time, the media can stage the event all over again. The media know we will forgive institutionalized violence, racism and bigotry because the Palestinians are poor. The media has rewarded decades of Palestinian ‘performances’ with status of official victimhood. ‘Dance for us,’ says the media and the Palestinians, hungrier for the camera and victimhood status than they are for a state, dignity and a civilized society, happily oblige.

‘Come on Anna Nicole, give us one more sway, one more jiggle.’

The media would have you believe they are ‘reporting’ news.

The media also obsess over publishing and televising images of the caskets of American soldiers, righteously saying that do just that would honor the fallen soldiers and at the same time, encourage sober debate about the cost and waste of human life that accompanies war.

If the media really cared about the caskets of wasted lives, they would clamor to present the caskets and funerals of the almost 17,000 deaths caused by drunk drivers. Almost three times that number were injured.

To describe American soldiers who perish in Iraq as ‘mercenaries’ or as ‘wasted lives,’ is a clear indictment of the media for who and what they have become and to whom they pander. Dying so that others may know freedom is not a ‘waste’ of anything. It is just the opposite. Every soldier that is killed or injured in the line of duty is another link in the strong chain that secures this nation to her values. That chain’s original links stretch back to the War of Independence. The War of 1812, World Wars One and Two, Korea, Vietnam and every war in between added to the strength of that chain.

Wasted lives?

The media is nothing if not predictable. Notwithstanding the still warm body, the search for the next Anna Nicole Smith has already begun, even as the Palestinians are doing their part for the media, pretending that their train wreck existence and hatred is ‘civilized.’
